Tip: When naming your pages, you may only use letters and/or numbers. WebNow will not accept special characters like !, & or spaces in page names. Top
Note: If you wish to upload an HTML file from your computer to be used as your index.html page, don't create a page using the Create Your First Page instructions above. Instead, upload it using Upload Files, being sure it is already named index.html.
The templates provided by your Administrator are listed here. They are intended as a starting point for your web pages, and to show you some of the design possibilities. The "Choose a Graphic" and "Choose a Divider" images in the templates are placeholders that you will substitute with your own image choices.
At the bottom of the User Center Screen your current user information is displayed. This includes your Web Title, Full Name, Email Address, Location (geographic) and Password. You may change any of your user information with the exception of your username, which you use to login to your account and which is also the name of your WebNow folder.

Your Web Title is the name of your website as it will appear in the Directory listing (if any) created by your Administrator, so you should make it descriptive of the content of your website. You may also want to change your password right away to something that you can easily remember. To change any of the items, merely make the changes or corrections in the text box and click the Update User button.
If you no longer want this WebNow web, enter your password and click the Delete My Web button. Note: Deleting your web is a permanent action! It cannot be restored after it has been deleted. If you delete your web accidentally you must apply for a new account and re-create your web manually. Top
You can create new pages up to the page and space limit allowed by your Administrator. Once you've reached either of these limits, the Create Page dialog will not appear on your User Center page. There are several templates available, which you can view by clicking on the links in the box below the Create Page dialog.

To create a new page, type in the name of the page (one word,
only letters and numbers, no spaces or special characters), choose a template
from the drop-down list and click the
button. The page will then appear in your Page List
underneath your other web pages. You can then edit your new page by clicking on
the
button next to it.

The Page List has several functions. It shows you the names and sizes of all your web pages and allows you to edit, rename, or delete your web pages.

The page files down the left-hand column are links that you can click on to view them in your browser. The Size column shows how much disk space each of the files is taking up. The Action column is described in the next section.
For more information about working with HTML files that you have uploaded from your computer, please see Uploading HTML Files below.
This part of the Page List and File List shows the actions you can perform on each of your pages or graphics files. Across from the name of each file will be several buttons, which may include Edit, Delete, and Rename. Clicking on a button will perform that action on the file listed in that row.

Click on the
button to enter the WebNow2000 Editor program and begin working
on your web page. There are separate help files to guide you through the WebNow2000
Editor program, which you can access once you are using the program.
Click on the
button to remove a page or file. Note:
Deleting a page or file is a permanent action, so be careful not to do so accidentally.
If you want to change the name of a web page or graphic file,
click on the
button in the row for that web page.
Your web address as shown below your Page List is the URL that anyone can use to view your web pages in a web browser. Your home page, which was created automatically when your account was created, will always be named index.html.

Tip: The index.html page cannot be renamed. Only the additional pages you create can be renamed. Top
You can upload files to use on your web pages, up to the space limit allowed by your Moderator. Once you have reached the limit, the Upload File dialog will no longer appear on your User Center page.
Follow these steps to upload a file to your WebNow web.

Tip: WebNow only accepts lowercase letters and/or numbers in file names. If your file name includes any special characters such as & or spaces, you must rename it before uploading it to your web. Top
If you have an HTML file on your hard drive that you would like
to include in your web, you can upload it using WebNow. Once you have uploaded
it, it will be shown on your Page List as if you had created it using the WebNow
Editor. However, an uploaded HTML file cannot be edited using the WebNow Editor.
When you click the
button you will be presented with the HTML document in a text
box rather than the normal editing screen.
This feature is intended primarily for those who have experience with HTML coding, or who prefer to create web pages using an offline webpage editor and then upload them, rather than editing them online. Top

This is a listing of file type extensions that the Moderator has enabled for upload to your web. They may include image files such as JPG, GIF or PNG files, HTML files, or document files such as DOC or PDF. If you attempt to upload a file with an extension that is not on this list, you will receive an error message and the upload will fail. Please note that you cannot change a file's extension on your hard drive in order to bypass the allowed file types, as the resulting file will not be displayed correctly in your web.
The File List displays information
about the files that you (or the Moderator) have uploaded to your web. You may
delete or rename any of these files by clicking on the
or
button next to the file name.
The File List (see File
List) also shows your File List file (if any) and
its size. You can delete your Guestbook by clicking on the
button, or administer your Guestbook by clicking the
button. You will see the following display, and you can delete any guestbook entry
by clicking on the
button.

Instructions for inserting a Guestbook on a web page are found in the WebNow Editor User Guide and Help.
In the lower part of the User Center Screen is displayed information about your web space usage and the page number and size allowances that have been assigned by your WebNow Administrator.

Once you have created all the pages you are allowed, the Create New Page dialog will no longer appear on your User Center display. If you use all the disk space you have been allotted, both the Create New Page and Upload File dialogs will disappear from your User Center. At this point, if you want to create a new page or upload another image file, you must make room by deleting something from your web, or apply to your WebNow Moderator for more space if this is one of your options.
